INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

In a Windows environment, the CD setup/installation software detects the version of the operating system that you are running. The software is installed in the language that you select. For example, if you are running an English version of Windows and have the language preference set to Spanish, the installation utility installs the Spanish version of the printing software for the appropriate Windows version.

WINDOWS INSTALLATION OPTIONS

The installation software lets you choose which driver or software component you would like to install. If you want to install more than one driver or additional software, you must return to the main menu on the Administrator CD, or click Install Additional Driver.

INSTALL SOFTWARE ON WINDOWS 2000, WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS SERVER 2003, WINDOWS SERVER 2008, WINDOWS VISTA, AND WINDOWS 7 SYSTEMS

NOTE: Connecting the product to the computer using a USB cable before installing software, also called Plug and Play, is not recommended. See the getting started guide for more information.

NOTE: Administrator privileges are required to install the printing system on a Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system.

Printing-system installation from the Administrator CD or Internet download for network and USB connections

  1. Quit all programs.
  2. Insert the Administrator CD.
    To install the PCL 6 driver and screen fonts, when the main menu appears, click Install Now. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    To install a different or additional driver, click Advanced Install Options and then select the component to install. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  3. If the HP printing-system installer program has not started after 30 seconds, complete steps 4 through 8.
  4. On the Start menu, select Run. (From your Vista computer select Start, All Programs, Accessories, and then Run.)
  5. Browse to the root directory for the CD drive.
  6. Select the SETUP.EXE file. Click Open and click OK.
  7. When the main menu appears, click Install Now.
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions.

NOTE: If you download the printing-system or driver from the Internet, you might need to first run the EXE file(s). If SETUP.EXE does not run automatically, browse to its root location, double-click the file, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Port selection

When the installation process is complete, you might need to assign the device to a port on your network if you did not assign a port during setup. Perform one of the following procedures:

Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008

  1. Click Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, and then select Printers.
  2. Select the printer that you just installed.
  3. On the toolbar, click File.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click the Port tab to change the port information.

Windows Vista

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, and then select Printers. Or, from your Vista computer click Start, click Control Panel, and then in the category for Hardware and Sound click Printer.

  4. Answer the questions in the Add Printer Wizard until you reach the screen that shows the printer manufacturer list.

  8. Click Open, and then click OK.
  9. Select the appropriate printer.
  10. Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the printer installation.

UNINSTALLER

Start the Uninstaller

  1. Click Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, and then select Add or Remove Programs. Or, from your Vista computer, click Start, click Control Panel, and then select Programs/Uninstall a Program.
  2. Select the HP Color LaserJet CM3530MFP driver, software, or documentation you want to remove and click Remove.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to remove the selected component.

NOTE: For the HP MFP Send Fax driver, delete the product icon from the Printers folder.

NOTE: For printer-driver-only (Add Printer/New Driver) installations, delete the product icon from the Printers folder. Then, from the File menu in the Printers folder, select Server Properties. In the Print Server Properties window, select the Driver tab. Select the HP Color LaserJet CM3530MFP driver and click Remove.

HP PC Send Fax Driver

Description:
Use this driver to conveniently fax documents from within PC applications through an analog-fax enabled HP multi-function (MFP) device.

Installation instructions:

To use the Add Printer Wizard to install the Send Fax driver, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Send Fax driver and extract the files to a directory of your choosing.
  2. Click Add a printer under the Printers and Faxes window.
  3. In the Add Printer Wizard welcome dialog box, click Next.
  4. Under Local or Network Printer, select Local printer attached to this computer, then click Next.
    NOTE: Select Local printer attached to this computer to install the MFP Send Fax driver on a network printer. The printer name is HP MFP Send Fax. When the driver is installed on a local printer, if you select a network printer, or a printer attached to another computer, then the IP address of the computer is required. Some features, such as fax preview, are not available if the driver is installed by using the network printer installation (Point and Print).
  5. If your computer is already connected to the MFP, under Select a Printer Port, select Use the following port.
    NOTE: If your computer is not connected to the MFP, select Create a new port, then select Standard TCP/IP Port. Type the MFP printer name or IP address in the Printer Name or IP Address text box.
  6. Under Install Printer Software, click Have Disk.
  7. Click Browse and go to the extracted driver files and select the .INF file.
  8. Click Next under Install Printer Software.
  9. Type a name for the printer (or use default).
  10. Share the printer as desired M3.
  11. Select Yes to print a test page (this will actually send a fax, not print a page locally).
  12. In the HP MFP Send Fax dialog box, click the Fax Job tab. (Setup information is not required to send a test page).
  13. In the Fax Number text box under Fax To, type the fax number where the test page will be sent.
  14. Click Send. The preview window opens if you selected Show Preview Before Sending Fax on the Setup tab. On the toolbar, click Send Fax.
  15. A message appears asking if the test page printed. Verify that the test page printed on the receiving fax machine and then click OK.

NOTE: The test page is delivered to the fax number that you typed in the Fax Number text box on the Fax Job tab.

Uninstalling the driver

  1. Navigate to Start > Settings > Printers.
  2.  Delete the printer. (HP MFP Send Fax) from the folder.
  3. Navigate to Start > Settings > Printers and right click inside the folder window.
    a. Select Server Properties.
    b. Go to Drivers and select the printer (HP MFP Send Fax) from the list.
    c. Click Remove.
  4. Stop the Print Spooler service (navigate to Start > Settings > Administrative Tools > Services).
  5. Go to \system32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86 folder and delete the file hpzpp40j.dll and/or hpzpp4xs.dll. (Only one may exist depending on the version.)
  6. Go to \system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 and remove the folder hewlett_packardhp_lac77b.
  7. Go to \temp folder and delete *.hlp files.
  8. Go to \temp folder and delete *.hlp files.
  9. Restart the spooler service.

NOTE: If the Send Fax driver was installed from the MFP software CD, you can also use the Uninstall feature (Modify installation), or you can use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Windows control panel.

  3. If you use Safari browser, the downloaded software will be automatically saved in the ‘Downloads’ folder. Check the download
  4. progression in the top corner of the Safari browser window
  5. Launch the HP installer by double clicking the downloaded file
  6. Now, you just follow any instruction on the screen.
